I have a question Doc...

Why did Kim Couture have screws put in rather the getting her jaw wired to heal after having her jaw broken in her last fight???

She mentioned in her interview that it was the new way how to deal with a broken jaw?!?!!?

I am going to call one of my friends who is an oral surgeon and does this kind of surgery all the time to get the "low down". Dentistry has changed so much with implants, better materials, better techniques, I will assume that the surgeons can achieve a higher degree of success with screws. If I get the time I  will try to call  on the Coutures and get more info

Just my thoughts (as i am no doctor of any sorts). I would think it has to do with not having your mouth wired shut for a long period of time. If the screws work good you would have to just be a little more careful with the healing process. My mother had her jaw broken in a car wreck and had a option of wired or screwed. She chose wired due to tossing in her sleep and chances of somthing being broke loose.  That may not be the case here but just thought i would chime in anyhoot.

I wish I would have had screws instead of being wired, my jaw sucks now. Looking back my Oral Surgeon smoked in his office so maybe I should have been worried lol.
